Hola! My name is Daniela Becerril and I've been dancing ever since I can remember. When I was 8 years old, my parents signed me up in our local dance studio in Puerto Rico, and in that moment, I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. My dance training consisted of Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Street Jazz and Latin Styles such as: Salsa and Bachata. By the age of 13, my dance journey took a turn, becoming one of the youngest instructors in the studio. Even though I was just a teenager, I knew right away that being an instructor, was one my life's purpose.
At the age of 20, I decided it was time to take my career to the next level and soon after, I created my own Competition Team. "D' kala Dance Company" was created with the purpose of not only train dancers to become professional working dancers in the industry, but to help them discover their full potential at a young age. Soon after, this team became one of the most distinguished and victorious Dance Teams all around the Island. In addition to coaching, I had the opportunity to be a backup dancer for latin recording artist, Tito El Bambino. I had the opportunity to be part of one of Tito's World Tour, and perform in some of the most well known stages such as: Latin Music Award "Premios Lo Nuestro", "Guaya Guaya Fest" one of the most important urban music events in Puerto Rico, "El Gordo y la Flaca" an American-Spanish language entertainment pop culture news show, and many more!
My dance journey significantly changed at the age of 24, when I decided it was time to challenge myself and expand my knowledge. This decision led me to one of the most prestigious dance studios in the world, Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, California. Here, I was fortunate to train under some of the best known dancers and choreographers in the world such as: Dana Alexa, Phil Wright, Hamilton Evans, Jared Jenkins, Dexter Carr, Guy Groove and more! After a few months of training, dancer and choreographer, Dana Alexa, took me under her wing, giving me the opportunity to assist her weekly classes not only in Los Angeles, but all around the world. With this also came other opportunities such as: travel the world as her dance and personal assistant, work as a facilitator for her dance- based Wellness Company, Three6zero, assist classes at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, and many other projects.
I attended the University of Sacred Heart in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I have more than 8 years of experience working as a Behavior Therapist, where I get to implement ABA therapy to children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I believe dance is a form of therapy! Neurodivergent or neurotypical. Children, teens or adults...dance is for everyone and my goal is to be a source of light to others. ❤️

So you are probably asking yourself, "What is ABA?" ,"Who can benefit from it?"
Let's begin with it's formal definition.
"The science in which tactics derived from the principles of behavior are applied to improve socially significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for the improvement in behavior."
In simple terms, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding behavior. ABA refers to a set of principles that focus on how behaviors change, or are affected by the environment, as well as how learning takes place.
Applied behavior analysis can be used for any child, adolescent, adult or senior citizen who can benefit from behavioral therapy. "It’s designed to promote healthy, positive behaviors in favor of behaviors that may be disruptive to the mental and social health of individuals. While ABA therapy is definitely best-known and most frequently used to treat individuals with autism spectrum disorder, ABA therapy for non-autistic individual can be very effective too. "
